PRN Melaka: PAS sedang nilai kekuatan Umno untuk pertimbang kerjasama

PAS President Hadi Awang expressed that his party is evaluating the strength of Umno in Melaka as they consider collaborating with the Barisan Nasional (BN) for the state election, according to his statement at the PAS Melaka Amal Night Dinner meeting. He acknowledged that they approach the situation differently compared to their previous involvement with PRN, which depended on the strength of the involved parties.

Awang stated that for Melaka, he is uncertain whether Umno is strong or not, and they would discuss it. He requested PAS members not to be worried about the division of seats, instead adhering to the party's decisions. He emphasized that decisions are made based on discussions held by party leadership, and once a decision is made, they will implement it.

An example of this approach was provided by PAS's collaboration with Umno and other BN parties in Johor's non-Perikatan Nasional (PN) seats. BN eventually retained power with 48 out of 56 contested seats.

Awang likened this arrangement to sports, where PAS acts as the goalkeeper, allowing Umno to score goals. Ultimately, Umno won while PAS did not score any goals; however, he did not express disappointment. The People's Network (PN) performed poorly, securing no seats in all 33 contested constituencies in Johor.
