In Sabah, approximately 120,000 four-wheel drivers, including minibuses and jeeps, are eligible to apply for an additional 100-liter allocation of BUDI Diesel, according to reports. However, only around 49,000 have taken advantage of this opportunity. PETALING JAYA: Utilizing the additional 100-liter quota under the BUDI Diesel scheme should be prioritized first to enable the government to assess genuine needs and consider any further allocations.

Sabah and Sarawak Deputy Prime Minister, Mustapha Sakmud, stated that the government has received requests from businesses and companies for increased diesel quota for specific vehicle categories and is currently under review by the Finance Ministry. Therefore, we expect the remaining applicants to register their vehicles to avail the additional 100 liters soon, before we can determine the actual required quota.

We urge around 71,000 eligible vehicle owners in Sabah to submit their applications for the additional quota, when he addressed a program in Kota Kinabalu yesterday, reported Bernama. Additionally, Mustapha said, the government will also gather diverse views on the implementation of BUDI Diesel and a detailed study will be conducted before the next step is announced.

Earlier reports quoting Finance Minister II Amir Hamzah Azizan stated that approximately 120,000 four-wheel drivers, including minibuses and jeeps in Sabah are eligible to apply for the additional 100-liter quota of BUDI Diesel, but only around 49,000 have done so. He was also reported to have said, the government is expected to announce several enhancements to the BUDI Diesel implementation process within a period of one to two months, particularly related to the application process and eligibility criteria.
