NVIDIA, Cloverleaf Partnering to Advance Data Center Development

Technology titan NVIDIA is amplifying its backing of artificial intelligence (AI) and data center construction through a strategic partnership with Cloverleaf Infrastructure, a firm specializing in power sources and infrastructure for site development. On August 21, Cloverleaf announced the collaboration, which will see NVIDIA taking a minority stake in the three-year-old company, valued at $300 million from its inaugural year.

Cloverleaf often operates as a liaison between utility providers and data centers, addressing the AI factories' need for a consistent electricity supply.

NVIDIA has increasingly become involved in financing and building data centers that subsequently purchase the company's AI systems. Earlier this month, the firm disclosed a $1.5 billion investment in SB Energy for the PORTS-Pike campus, an OpenAI-backed 10-GW data center project in Pike County, Ohio. NVIDIA's CEO, Jensen Huang, emphasized that AI is evolving into infrastructure essential for intelligence across all industries and highlighted the importance of land, power, and shell in the AI era.

The company aims to secure enduring infrastructure for its compute needs, enabling OpenAI to deploy ever-more productive AI factories with repeatable upgrades and enhanced intelligence.

NVIDIA will be a notable presence at the upcoming Experience POWER conference, taking place Sept. 28–30, 2026, at the Omni Shoreham in Washington, D.C., with John Josephakis, NVIDIA's Global Vice President of HPC, AI & Supercomputing, speaking on AI integration in federal energy initiatives. The conference will also host the Data Center POWER eXchange event on Sept.

30 and Oct. 1. Cloverleaf stated that NVIDIA's investment will bolster the company's ability to assist clients and utility partners in meeting the growing demand for accelerated computing. The partnership will focus on advancing the foundational infrastructure required for AI factory development, leveraging Cloverleaf's extensive AI development pipeline and numerous GW-scale projects across North America.

Cloverleaf's co-founder and CEO, David Berry, noted that the collaboration will help identify and develop high-quality sites, providing the compute power needed for America's growth and security. Together, they aim to empower businesses and workers with a critical edge by accelerating the deployment of AI infrastructure. Cloverleaf will integrate NVIDIA's DSX Platform into their design process, enabling clients to evaluate infrastructure tradeoffs and construct AI factories that deliver greater AI output within the constraints of available power, water, and grid resources.

The financial terms of the agreement have not been disclosed, though reports suggest NVIDIA's investment could reach several hundred million dollars.
