Legenda hoki negara Sarjit Singh meninggal dunia

Malaysia's former national team captain and men's hockey team coach Sarjit Singh passed away at the age of 63 at the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Medical Centre (HCTM) Hospital late last night. The deceased, battling health issues, took his final breath around 10pm. The news of the legendary Malaysian hockey figure's demise was confirmed by the Malaysia Hockey Confederation (KHM) via a post on his Facebook page.

The KHM also recorded a tribute message to the deceased's family and loved ones, who once wore the national jersey from 1982 to 1993. "Sarjit's dedication, service, and contributions to Malaysian hockey, whether as a player or coach, will forever be remembered," stated the message. "May they find strength, resilience, and peace as they face this challenging time. May his soul find eternal peace."

Throughout his playing career, Sarjit represented Malaysia in two Olympic Games, once each in Los Angeles in 1984 and Barcelona in 1992. He also helped the country win a silver medal at two Asian Games, one in New Delhi in 1982 and another in Beijing in 1990. Post-retirement, Sarjit continued to contribute to the sport as a coach, guiding the national team from February 2024 to February 2026.
