Malaysia's legendary field hockey star Sarjit Singh has passed away at the age of 63 at the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Medical Centre (HCTM) hospital, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, according to the Malaysian Hockey Confederation (KHM). Sarjit's passing was confirmed through a message on his official Facebook page.

Sarjit, who made his last breath around 10 o'clock last night, was known for his dedication, commitment, and contributions to Malaysian hockey, both as a player and a coach. He served as the head coach of the Malaysian men's national team from 2007 to 2008. His legacy includes representing Malaysia in two editions of the Olympics, in Los Angeles in 1984 and Barcelona in 1992, as well as assisting Malaysia in winning a silver medal at two editions of the Asian Games, in New Delhi in 1982 and Beijing in 1990.

Following his retirement from playing, Sarjit continued to contribute to the sport as a coach, guiding the national team from 2007 to 2008. In a touching message, the KHM expressed their grief and saluted the family and loved ones of the late legend.
