South Korean badminton sensation An Se-young secured her second career world title on Sunday, defeating her long-time rival Akane Yamaguchi of Japan in the women's singles final at the Badminton World Federation (BWF) World Championships in New Delhi. The 21-14, 21-17 victory marked An's second world championship win, following her triumph in 2023, and solidified her status as the only South Korean singles player with a world title.

An dominated the match, winning six consecutive games to claim the title without dropping a single set. Meanwhile, in the women's doubles category, South Korea's Baek Hana and Lee So-hee claimed their first world title in over three decades, defeating Chinese duo Liu Shengshu and Tan Ning 21-15, 21-15 over 51 minutes of intense play.
