Kedah end 20-year Sukma wait with rugby gold

Kedah ended a 20-year wait for the men's rugby sevens gold after defeating Perak 14-12 in a thrilling final match. This marked Kedah's first appearance in the final since 2006, when they reached the gold medal game but lost to Selangor. Prior to the final, Kedah had outlasted Johor 28-24 in the semi-finals. In the women's final, Selangor showcased dominant form, sweeping past Sarawak 41-0. The hosts scored four tries before halftime and added another 19 points after the break to clinch the match. Sabah secured the women's bronze after defeating Terengganu 19-5. Sabah took a 7-0 lead at halftime and added 12 points in the second half, while Terengganu managed a consolation try.
