Harry's UK move driven by desire to be closer to King

Former royal butler Grant Harrold has suggested that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's imminent return to Britain with their children may be partly motivated by a desire to mend their relationship with King Charles. The 41-year-old prince and his 45-year-old wife are preparing to move from California to the UK within weeks, along with their seven-year-old son Archie and five-year-old daughter Lilibet.

The family plans to reside in a private home outside London, while maintaining their properties in California and Portugal. Grant told Us Weekly that he believes King Charles has likely influenced their decision and that Harry is prioritizing his father, who has been working to repair their relationship despite their physical distance.

The July meeting between the royal family at Highgrove in Gloucestershire marked Harry and Charles' first in-person encounter since 2022. The visit demonstrated the King's eagerness to see his grandchildren. However, Harry's strained relationship with his brother Prince William remains unresolved, and Grant noted that the King is particularly concerned about William's reaction to the family's return.
