Gotta munch ‘em all: I tried the new Pokémon x Krispy Kreme donuts to find out if they’re actually worth buying

I embarked on an adventure to review a unique treat, the Pokémon x Krispy Kreme donuts. These donuts are available in various markets, including the US, Canada, and the UK. In the UK, you can choose from designs featuring Pikachu, Jigglypuff, Charmander, and Poké Ball. To determine the taste and quality of these creations, I sampled each donut and formed my own opinions.

The Pikachu donut, the series mascot, features lemon sherbet cream, lemon-flavored icing, fizzy thunderbolt sprinkles, and an edible Pikachu plaque. While I'm not a big fan of lemon desserts, I found the donut to be surprisingly enjoyable. The sweetness of the icing balanced the sourness of the lemon, and the edible Pikachu was delicious. I awarded this donut 4 out of 5 stars.

Next up was Jigglypuff, another iconic first-generation Pokémon. This donut is essentially a standard Original Glazed with strawberry frosting, strawberry biscuit crumbs, and an edible Jigglypuff plaque. I'm not a fan of strawberry, but this donut was delightful. The strawberry frosting was sweet but not overpowering, and the strawberry biscuit crumbs added a nice crunch. I rated the Jigglypuff donut 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Charmander, a beloved Pokémon and starter option in the original games, was the focus of my third donut. This filled donut features a dulce de leche and marshmallow filling, topped with caramel icing, red and gold sugar, and an edible Charmander plaque. The donut's flavors were a beautiful blend of sweetness and richness, and its eye-catching design made it one of the best donuts I've ever eaten. I awarded Charmander donut a perfect 5 out of 5 stars.

The Poké Ball donut, while not the most interesting design, was a must-have due to its circular shape. It's an Original Glazed donut with white icing and red sprinkles, representing the Poké Ball's circular shape and center band. This donut was simple but satisfying, with a rich, chocolatey flavor in the middle. I rated the Poké Ball donut 4.5 out of 5 stars.

After trying all the available options in the UK, I concluded that the Pokémon x Krispy Kreme donuts were worth buying. While the donuts aren't the cheapest, costing £2.99 each, the quality and unique flavors make them worth the investment. I highly recommend trying these donuts for any Pokémon fan looking for a sweet treat.
