From NFL to LSU Dae’Quan Wright commits to the Tigers

BATON ROUGE, LA - JANUARY 08: Tight end Dae’Quan Wright, a former Ole Miss player, has committed to the LSU Tigers after being released by the Cleveland Browns. This news brings an exciting twist to Baton Rouge and LSU. First, it marks the first time a former NFL player commits to a college team this early in the season. Secondly, Wright was once ineligible but has now regained his path to eligibility.

If cleared by NFL waivers, he could potentially join the Tiger squad in time for their first game of the year against Clemson. The final step includes bypassing the SEC’s intraconference transfer rule, which prohibits players from moving between the conference outside the initial transfer window.
