Family members among five held in TikToker’s murder case in Taxila

Taxila police made a significant move in the investigation into the murder of TikToker Shamsu Bibi, also known as Ayesha Gilamana, on Saturday. The investigation took a dramatic turn after five suspects, including the victim's father and brother, were arrested and claimed to have confessed to orchestrating her killing.

SSP Operations Tariq Mehboob briefed the media on the expanded scope of the probe, highlighting the role of technical evidence and human intelligence. The police expanded their investigation after inconsistencies emerged in the initial course of the inquiry. Initially, they were pursuing different leads on the daylight shooting of the TikToker. However, the confessions during interrogation revealed that the accused tried to fabricate a false narrative, misleading investigators to evade legal consequences.

Investigative sources mentioned that CCTV footage, technical evidence, and intelligence inputs were instrumental in exposing these inconsistencies and unravelling the alleged conspiracy. The latest arrests have put the victim's immediate family at the center of the murder conspiracy. All five suspects would be produced before the court, along with the evidence collected during the investigation.

Police officials stated that they were still piecing together the complete chain of events leading to the killing and urged further evaluation of the confessions alongside the gathered material before reaching a legal conclusion.
