ED books Jammu and Kashmir Deputy CM’s brother in PMLA case

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has charged Inspector Vijay Choudhary with money laundering, leading to Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary of Jammu and Kashmir condemning the move as "selective targeting." The police officer is currently suspended after the Anti-Corruption Bureau filed an FIR against him for allegedly amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

On Friday, the ED booked him for allegedly possessing several benami assets. Surinder Choudhary, who fought against militancy, expressed his shock at his brother's targeting while highlighting the need for judicial scrutiny rather than public debate. He vowed not to be intimidated by the case but criticized the BJP's approach to seeking Muslim votes during elections while employing "Hindu-Muslim politics" afterwards, deeming such tactics unfortunate for Jammu and Kashmir and the nation.
