‘Bihar no longer the badlands’: Industries Minister Shreyasi Singh’s investment pitch

Bihar's industries minister, Shreyasi Singh, has claimed the state is on track to surpass its ambitious Rs 5 lakh crore investment target by November. In an interview with The Indian Express, Singh discussed measures to streamline bureaucracy, ease business processes, and attract investors. He highlighted sectors such as steel, leather, garment, and ethanol that have been successfully attracting capital inflows.

Singh emphasized a focus on reducing bureaucratic hurdles, ensuring a conducive environment for investors, and leveraging government funds to facilitate infrastructure development. The state has already received proposed investments totaling Rs 1.11 lakh crore, with a substantial increase in figures currently being compiled.
