Alwar school principal suspended over video of him bathing with girl students

A government school principal in Alwar has been suspended following the viral video purportedly showing him bathing with female students from classes 9 to 12, according to the education department. The video has sparked outrage among locals, leading to investigations by both departmental and police authorities. Alwar district education officer Manoj Sharma stated that serious allegations have been made against the principal by local residents.

A three-member committee has been formed to conduct an impartial inquiry into the accusations. The incident allegedly occurred on August 15, following Independence Day celebrations at the school. Initial reports suggest that the principal led around 200 students on a picnic to a dam near Bhadaz, located approximately two kilometers from the school via a forest route.

However, villagers claim that no female teachers were present during the excursion. A video subsequently shared on social media allegedly depicts the principal bathing in the dam with the female students. Locals allege that the principal lifted some of the girls in his arms, claiming it was for swimming lessons. The choice of location has raised safety concerns, as the dam embankment is only five to six feet wide, and incidents of children drowning have occurred there in the past.

Locals also mentioned that access to the area has been restricted for nearly four years due to safety risks, and tiger sightings have been reported in the vicinity. The principal was confronted by locals on Saturday upon the video's emergence, demanding a thorough investigation and stringent action if the allegations prove true.

Police have taken the viral video seriously and initiated an inquiry based on the footage. Authorities are currently verifying the video's authenticity, identifying the individuals featured in it, and examining the circumstances surrounding the incident.
