- About 50 members of the ruling People Power Party (PPP) held a closed-door meeting on the 12th and concluded that they are against re-electing district party committee chiefs. Earlier, Rep. Jang Dong-hyeok, a member of the PPP, had proposed re-electing district party committee chiefs. The meeting was attended by about 50 lawmakers, including Rep. Kim Chong-in, the party's interim leader. The attendees at the meeting expressed concerns that re-electing district party committee chiefs could revive factionalism within the party. They also argued that it could undermine the party's efforts to reform itself.
