26-Year-Old Newlywed Woman Found Hanging, Kin Allege Foul Play In Bhopal

Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh - A 26-year-old woman named Madhavi Singh was discovered hanging inside her rented residence in Shiv Nagar on Sunday morning, according to local police. The victim, hailing from Uttar Pradesh, was identified by her blood relatives. Police learned of Madhavi's distress after her landlady visited the premises and found her motionless in her bedroom for an extended period. The landlady promptly reported the incident to the authorities.

Madhavi and her husband, Shubham Singh, had been married in an arranged ceremony two years prior. The couple resided together in Bhopal, with Shubham operating a modest tea stall near the city's railway station. Tragically, Madhavi's family believes that Shubham had a history of physical abuse towards her, which culminated in frequent confrontations between the pair. The family claims that Madhavi's injuries indicated she had been murdered, noting visible marks on her body.

Upon arrival at the scene, police dispatched Madhavi's body for a post-mortem examination. An unnatural death case has been lodged, and investigators are actively pursuing the inquiry. Preliminary assessments by police suggest the possibility of suicide, although all potential scenarios are being thoroughly examined. Chhola Mandir police reported that Shubham and neighboring residents are currently under questioning as part of the ongoing investigation.
