2027: Oborevwori will Campaign on Performance, Not Promises, Says Delta Govt

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State will focus on highlighting his record of achievements in the upcoming 2027 governorship election, rather than making promises to voters, according to the state government. Mr Charles Aniagwu, the state Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, made this statement during a briefing for journalists in Asaba.

Aniagwu emphasized that Governor Oborevwori's first mandate in 2023 was justified by the numerous projects and programs implemented across the state, which have yielded visible results for the people. He assured that if re-elected, the governor would take the MORE Agenda to greater heights and present tangible evidence of the administration's accomplishments.

The commissioner criticized the opposition for resorting to baseless allegations and narratives that lacked a connection to reality. He accused them of being unsettled by the administration's performance, which he believes will strengthen their resolve to govern effectively.

Aniagwu also dismissed allegations by former Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, that Oborevwori planned to eliminate him. He stated that the claim was politically motivated and baseless, as Omo-Agege was contesting for a different position in 2027. The commissioner recalled that Oborevwori had defeated Omo-Agege in the 2023 election, attributing the victory to the governor's credibility and acceptance by the people of Delta.

Furthermore, Aniagwu highlighted the administration's commitment to development, good governance, and improving the lives of Deltans. He emphasized that the government would continue pursuing investment, infrastructure, and economic development while remaining focused on addressing the needs of the people. He dismissed any distractions from unfounded political allegations, stating that the state government would not be deterred from its mission.
