2027: Melaye vows to sue over Zacch Adedeji’s role in Tinubu’s campaign

Dino Melaye, a former Kogi West senator, has announced his intention to sue over the appointment of Zacch Adedeji, the Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service, to the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 election. Melaye, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress in Kogi State, criticized President Bola Tinubu's decision to chair the APC Presidential Campaign Council, deeming it "disgraceful" and questioning Tinubu's lack of confidence in his own team.

Melaye argued that the appointment of Adedeji, who is also the Deputy Director of Fundraising in Tinubu's campaign council, could create a conflict of interest due to his role in the country's revenue service. He vowed to challenge the arrangement in court, stating that he will "test that" on Monday and make sure the battle against Tinubu's re-election bid is a "battle of no retreat, no surrender."
