Renault Captur gutted by fire after crashing into Honda City on SPE

KUALA LUMPUR — A Renault Captur SUV was reduced to ashes following a crash with another vehicle on the Setiawangsa-Pantai Expressway (SPE) on its way to Mid Valley city today. The Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department was alerted at 12.37pm via the MERS999 emergency line. Responding to the scene, a team of nine firefighters from the Hang Tuah Fire and Rescue Station, led by Operations Commander Senior Fire Officer I Muhammad Amirudin Mohd Hassan, mobilized one Fire Rescue Tender and two Rapid Intervention Motorcycle units.

Initial findings pointed to the Captur colliding with the rear of a Honda City, sparking a fire that engulfed the Renault vehicle. Firefighters swiftly contained the blaze and managed to fully douse the flames by 1.21pm. The fire department reported no casualties or injuries resulting from the accident. Ongoing investigations are underway to ascertain the precise cause of the fire.
