Police probe indecent act allegedly targeting woman in Sungai Petani

Police are looking into an alleged indecent act committed in front of a woman in her car in Sungai Petani, according to officials. The incident occurred in Taman Keladi on August 20 around 8pm, as reported by Kuala Muda district police chief Assistant Commissioner Hanyan Ramlan. The case is being investigated under Section 509 of the Penal Code.

Police are urging anyone with information about the suspect to come forward and assist with the investigation. The incident gained attention after a social media post alleged the man had been loitering in the residential area before allegedly committing the indecent act while the woman remained inside her vehicle. The post also mentioned the man's prior involvement in theft incidents, though this claim has not been confirmed by the police.

In response, a local volunteer organization has urged the public, especially women driving alone, to remain vigilant and report any harassment or suspicious behavior to the authorities promptly.
