PAS lebih berminat isu dasar luar negara berbanding TH, kata Fahmi

Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil questioned the actions of PAS in speaking out on foreign affairs matters, but acknowledged the findings of the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) report on the Tabung Haji (TH). The RCI report uncovered maladministration and mismanagement of the institution's accounts and investments from 2014 to 2017, including losses involving millions of ringgit.

He was surprised that certain parties, including PAS allies, made comments far removed from the TH issue but did not address the findings in the report. Fahmi urged them to focus on reviewing and discussing the matter, as they had fled the Dewan Rakyat when the opposition hoped to address it. PAS stated that Malaysia's position on the one-China principle was not an issue, but questioned Anwar Ibrahim's assertion that Taiwan was part of China, and compared Malaysia's situation with the use of military force as a means to prevent other countries from withdrawing from the united front.

Setiausaha Agung Takiyuddin Hassan claimed that Anwar's statement, made in an interview with Al Jazeera, had placed Malaysia in a difficult diplomatic position. Fahmi, however, argued that Malaysia's stance on the China and Taiwan issue was consistent and unchanged since the Abdul Razak Hussein government. He maintained that Anwar's position was consistent with the foreign policy stance of the Putra Palace for a long time.

Fahmi noted that the allegations made by Takiyuddin were false. He saw two points: first, Malaysia's position on the issue has been since the time of Abdul Razak, and our position has never changed. The Prime Minister only expressed what was consistent with the Putra Palace's stance. Therefore, there has been no change or difference in this regard.
