NSMQ 2026: Anum Presby survive tense battle to deny St. Charles Minor Sem. one-eighth spot

The 2026 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) concluded with an intense final showdown between Anum Presby Senior High School and St. Charles Minor Seminary, leaving both schools disappointed. Anum Presby SHS emerged victorious, securing the One-Eighth Stage spot with a commanding 35 points. St. Charles Minor Seminary finished second with 30 points, while Manya Krobo Senior High School finished third with 18 points.

The competition began with both Anum Presby SHS and Manya Krobo SHS tied at 15 points after Round One, while St. Charles Minor Seminary trailed at 11 points. The tension escalated in Round Two, the Speed Race, as Anum Presby SHS took the lead with 19 points, followed by St. Charles Minor Seminary with 16 points and Manya Krobo SHS with 13 points.

St. Charles Minor Seminary mounted a strong comeback in Round Three, leading with 23 points, just one point ahead of Anum Presby SHS with 22 points, while Manya Krobo SHS remained at 14 points. The match stayed tightly contested into Round Four, with Anum Presby SHS reclaiming the lead at 29 points, while St. Charles Minor Seminary remained close behind with 27 points.

In the final stretch, Anum Presby SHS maintained its composure and secured the One-Eighth Stage ticket with a total of 35 points. St. Charles Minor Seminary narrowly missed the advancement with 30 points, and Manya Krobo SHS ended their competition journey with 18 points.
