NSMQ 2026: Fafraha Community SHS defy odds to secure one-eighth spot

Fafraha Community SHS has made history by securing a spot in the One-Eighth Stage of the 2026 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) against all odds. The 10-year-old day school, which operates on a tight schedule, has proven that age and school structure are not barriers to competing at the national level. From the beginning, Fafraha Community SHS demonstrated its competitive spirit by taking the lead with 17 points, ahead of Awudome SHS (14 points) and Ejisuman SHS (8 points).

Their advantage only grew in the second round, with Fafraha accumulating 30 points, while Awudome remained at 14 points and Ejisuman dropped to 1. However, Awudome refused to be outdone, mounting a strong comeback in the third round, moving to 21 points, and pushing further to 31 points in the fourth round. Despite this intense challenge, Fafraha maintained its composure under pressure, increasing its points from 34 in the third round to 38 in the fourth round.

The final round saw Fafraha seal the contest with 44 points, Awudome finishing on 34 points, and Ejisuman SHS on 10 points. This victory adds another significant chapter to Fafraha Community SHS' NSMQ journey, showcasing that with determination and consistent performance, even the youngest and smallest schools can achieve remarkable success on the national stage.
