Karnataka to recruit 1000 faculty members across 32 State universities

Karnataka's Higher Education Minister has pledged to enhance infrastructure, stabilize finances, and fill vacant faculty positions in 32 state universities, according to internal discussions with university leaders. The minister, Basavaraj Rayaraddi, confirmed that at least 1,000 permanent faculty members will be hired this year, with a file submitted to the Finance Department for approval.

The university leaders also expressed a need for additional funding sources, including grants from the Union government, corporate social responsibility initiatives, and international development bank loans. They emphasized the urgency of timely scholarship disbursements for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe students through the SCSP and TSP funds.
