IIHM launches Egg Bank to support nutritional needs of children
International Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM) has launched its first Egg Bank in Bengaluru, India, to provide sustained nutritional support to children in dire need of it. The project was initiated at Sri Rakum School for the Blind, where students from IIHM, known as food soldiers, distributed 700 eggs to visually-impaired children.
Dr. Suborno Bose, founder & chairman of IIHM, announced that the student-led CSR initiative is being undertaken in association with Valmiki Foundation. IIHM plans to progressively expand the programme to old-age homes, orphanages, and other institutions serving underprivileged communities in Bengaluru. The initiative will be extended to other IIHM campuses across India, with each campus identifying beneficiary institutions nearby.
