How to delete your eharmony account

Deciding to part ways with your eharmony account can be a significant choice. Whether you've found your soulmate and wish to end your online dating journey or simply require a respite from the virtual dating world, the process of deleting your account isn't straightforward. It's essential to understand the steps involved, whether you choose to fully delete, temporarily hide, or cancel your subscription.

For those paying for a subscription, canceling is a prerequisite before proceeding to account deletion. Begin by logging into your eharmony account via a web browser. Head to the upper right corner and click on your profile photo. Select Data & Settings, then navigate to the My Membership tab. From there, choose Cancel My Subscriptions and follow the ensuing prompts. Depending on your subscription renewal period, you may retain some time on your paid plan, but you are now free to move forward with deleting your account.

The account deletion process mirrors the cancellation steps. Log into your account, click on your profile photo, and select Data & Settings. Under the Profile Visibility section, you'll find a prompt stating, "To delete your profile permanently, please click here." After reviewing the data loss disclaimers, re-enter your password to confirm your identity, and then select Delete Profile.

This action will erase all your uploaded photos, profile information, matches, and contact details, offering a fresh start if you ever choose to return to eharmony.

If deleting your account feels too final, consider temporarily hiding it instead. This option preserves all your existing matches, photos, conversation history, and subscriptions while making your profile invisible to anyone who hasn't interacted with it before. To hide your account, follow the same initial steps to reach the Data & Settings screen.

Under the Profile Visibility section, activate the green toggle next to Visible to all eharmony members. Your status should change to "Not visible," ensuring your account is hidden from view. This compromise allows you to reassess your decision, continue any existing relationships, or return to eharmony at any time by reversing these steps.
