Hampir 100,000 kandungan penipuan diturunkan hingga Julai

Hampir sepuluh ribu isyarat penipuan dicabut daripada media sosial hingga julai tahun ini. Johor Bharu: Incase you missed it, an astounding 99,693 pieces of social media content, including scams, were removed by the end of July this year, surpassing the previous year's removal of 98,503 pieces. Communications and Multimedia Minister Teo Nie Ching revealed that there were 106,268 requests for removal of such content from platforms like Meta, TikTok, and YouTube in the same period, compared to 102,113 in the previous year.

"While the requests are made by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), the platforms hold the ultimate authority to remove or retain the content. Nevertheless, for scams, the compliance rate of platforms usually exceeds 90%," she told reporters after the Madani Kita (PMK) 2026 Johor State programme at the Taman Desa Skudai parliament.

As Teo marks his birthday, he reminds the public to ensure the Jalur Gemilang flag is flown correctly, as the national flag is a significant symbol of the nation. She added that the Department of Public Affairs (JaPEN) also conducts the 1House 1Jalur Gemilang campaign throughout the National Day, from August to September, to encourage the public to fly the national flag correctly.

"We receive many complaints that actions taken by local authorities or police are inconsistent when it comes to different locations. I believe this is also an issue we need to address as we don't want to create fear among the public for flying the Jalur Gemilang," she said.
