Friday night live: Live scoring for all 10 desert teams in action

Welcome to the 2026 football season! Tonight marks the first time ten of our fourteen teams step onto the field. As the night unfolds, we will provide live updates on scores and any additional news that emerges. Let's witness how the first Friday's games unfold together.

Santa Rosa Academy faces Cathedral City, Desert Hot Springs hosts Tahquitz, San Bernardino meets Indio, Twentynine Palms takes on Desert Christian Academy, Rancho Mirage hosts Yucca Valley, Palm Desert plays Brawley, Xavier Prep faces Rim of the World, and Esperanza takes on Shadow Hills. There is no game scheduled for La Quinta and Coachella Valley this week.

From the previous match, Desert Mirage defeated Duarte 16-8. The Rams began their season strongly, led by their defense. Pablo Marcelo scored a 8-yard touchdown run, followed by a two-point conversion. Angel Avila added another touchdown run, pushing the score to 16-0. Duarte managed to score late in the game, but Ivan Pesqueda forced a fumble, and Joseph Vallejo recovered the ball to secure the victory.

In another game, Hemet faced Palm Springs. The Indians fell behind 30-6 at halftime and started their season 0-1. Graduation impacts and playing against a tough team on the road didn't help. However, you can watch Elite 11 videos for more information on some of our desert's top players.

Looking ahead to Week 2, here's the schedule: Grand Terrace hosts Palm Springs, Desert Mirage meets San Jacinto Valley Academy, Indian Springs takes on Indio, Riverside Prep hosts Twentynine Palms. On Friday (Aug. 28), Cathedral City plays San Bernardino, Desert Hot Springs hosts Xavier Prep, Yucca Valley faces La Quinta, Coachella Valley meets Rancho Mirage, and Central (El Centro) takes on Palm Desert. Palo Verde Valley concludes the week with a game against Shadow Hills on Saturday (Aug. 29) at 6 p.m.
