EPL: Theo Walcott names Arsenal star Arteta won’t be happy with after 3-0 win over Coventry

Former Arsenal player Theo Walcott suggested that Arteta might be unhappy with Eberechi Eze's performance after Arsenal's 3-0 win against Coventry City on Friday evening. The Premier League champions started the new season strongly, with goals from Kai Havertz, Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard in the match at the Emirates Stadium.

Eze started the game on the bench, coming on as a substitute for Christos Tzolis with 14 minutes remaining. Walcott thinks that Arteta would be disappointed with Eze's long-range free-kick in the final moments, which hit the crossbar. He believes that such minor details will have a significant impact on the manager's decisions regarding player selections throughout the season.

Walcott said, "Even when the substitutions were made, that’s their chance to show Mikel, ‘Don’t forget about me.’ I sensed some might not have given their best effort upon coming in, but it’s the first match of the season, and they deserve some patience. This reminds those not in the starting lineup that the squad is big and competitive.

If you want to be in the starting lineup, there are certain standards Mikel will be watching closely. Eze had that shot at the end...I’m not sure if Arteta will be happy with that.
