Broncos stock watch: Risers and fallers from second preseason game

Denver Broncos' second preseason game results highlighted several players who rose to prominence and others who fell in the loss to the Green Bay Packers. Coach Sean Payton criticized the team's performance, noting that they struggled in nearly every aspect of the game.

One bright spot was the connection between quarterback Bo Nix and wide receiver Jaylen Waddle. Nix threw a 35-yard touchdown pass to Waddle, setting up the opening Broncos score. This play showcased both Waddle's receiving skills and the chemistry between Nix and Waddle.

Conversely, quarterback Jarrett Stidham had a difficult game. He threw an interception without pressure and committed a turnover on a center-to-quarterback exchange, resulting in a loss of yards. Stidham's performance was reminiscent of his subpar play in the previous week's game against the Atlanta Falcons.

Undrafted safety Kolbe Katsis emerged as a potential contributor to the team. Katsis handled all four kickoffs and returned one punt for the Broncos, amassing 117 yards on the ground. His explosive play could lead to a roster spot similar to that of veteran Marvin Mims.

On the other hand, linebacker Tyler Badie saw limited playing time with only five touches and five yards. Despite having been a consistent part of the Broncos' roster, Badie appears on the outside looking in as the preseason concludes and roster cuts approach on August 30.

Defensive player Red Murdock and wide receiver Que Robinson stood out on defense. Murdock recorded seven tackles, solidifying his status as a reliable middle linebacker. Robinson also recorded a sack, adding to his growing reputation as a pass-rushing threat despite competing with other defensive players for playing time.
