BIG duo makes Fortnite history with back-to-back LAN titles at Esports World Cup

In a groundbreaking achievement, BIG duo Taylor-Petric Gacchlhoefer and Daniil Yakovenko secured back-to-back LAN titles at the Esports World Cup in Paris, earning a combined $260,000. This historic feat marks the first instance of a Fortnite duo winning consecutive LAN championships in the professional scene. Previously, the duo clinched the FNCS 2026 Major 1 Summit in May, but matching their performance at the LAN was no easy task, given the game's unpredictable and rapid pace.

The pair claimed the Fortnite Reload Elite Series title at the 2026 Esports World Cup, defeating other teams in the final round. BIG's Malibuca expressed his gratitude towards vic0, saying, "I'm very lucky to have vic0 on my team, and I don't think I could have won this championship or this game with anyone else." He added that vic0 played a pivotal role in defeating the final two-player team.

Vic0 was named Sony MVP, receiving an additional $25,000 for his exceptional performance, which included 32 eliminations and 19 knockdowns throughout the tournament. He expressed his satisfaction with the championship, stating, "I really loved this championship, and I wish it had lasted longer because it gave me an incredible feeling."

Despite a strong performance by the French duo Momsy and Skyjump, BIG's duo emerged victorious. Aurora Gaming's Oltean Stefan and Tin Popovic secured third place. However, Team Falcons, considered favorites among spectators, failed to make an impact, finishing twelfth overall and earning no club championship points.
