Bersama sasar lonjakan sokongan 15% di Melaka

Parti Bersama Malaysia, led by Rafizi Ramli, is aiming to secure 15% support from voters in the Melaka state and federal constituency for the upcoming PRN elections, a spokesman said. The target is seen as a crucial step in boosting the party's position to potentially reach 20% nationwide support ahead of the 2016 general election.

Rafizi believes that this can be achieved through a renewed political branding strategy, focusing on digital skills, strong grassroots support, and a non-traditional command structure. He noted that the momentum in increasing support from 3% to 6% in the Johor PRN race earlier this year proved the new party's ability to become a major player in the domestic political landscape.

If the party manages to secure 15% support in Melaka and approach 20% nationally, it would automatically become a major deciding force on par with large alliances like Pakatan Harapan, Barisan Nasional, and Perikatan Nasional. Upper-middle-class voters who make up more than 30% of the electorate are likely to view the party as the main alternative to political compromises and coalition deals at the top level, Rafizi emphasized in the Merdeka Night 2026 session.

Additionally, Rafizi mentioned that his party has received approximately 300 inquiries from individuals interested in becoming candidates for Bersama in Selangor and the federal constituency. According to him, the screening process is currently taking place based on a stringent internal guideline before the official list is announced earlier than usual.

"We will have to look at each one, verify it, and from there, we will be able to match accordingly," he said. Last week, Rafizi reportedly announced 15 candidates to contest the Melaka PRN election.
