Bersama aims for 15% voter support in Melaka polls

Bersama party leader Rafizi Ramli has announced the party's aim to secure up to 15% voter support in the upcoming Melaka state election. Rafizi views this target as a crucial milestone on the path to achieving 20% national support in the general election scheduled for 2026. At a recent event, he outlined his vision for achieving this increased support through a rebranding strategy that emphasizes digital efficiency, robust grassroots service, and a decentralized party structure lacking a traditional hierarchical command.

Rafizi's assertion that Bersama could potentially become a 'hyperscaler' in Malaysia's political arena came after a notable rise in support from 3% to 6% in the recent Johor elections. He highlighted that reaching 15% in Melaka, coupled with 20% nationally, would position Bersama as a kingmaker alongside significant coalitions like Pakatan Harapan, Barisan Nasional, and Perikatan Nasional.

The party has reportedly received approximately 300 applications from potential candidates for the upcoming election in Selangor and the Federal Territories, with a rigorous screening process underway based on predefined guidelines.
