Arsenal hold medical ahead of Blackburn Rovers signing

Arsenal have secured the signing of Blackburn Rovers striker Igor Tyjon, after the two clubs reached an agreement. Tyjon underwent a medical on Friday, bringing an end to a lengthy pursuit by Arsenal. The deal is reportedly worth £3.2m, with £1.2m paid upfront and the remainder in add-ons. A 20% sell-on clause is also part of the agreement.

Tyjon, 18, had submitted a transfer request this week, prompting an independent panel process that was expected to take several weeks. However, the confirmation of a deal between Arsenal and Blackburn Rovers suggests the panel hearing will not be required. The young player scored seven goals and assisted two in 21 appearances for Blackburn Rovers' youth teams in the 2025/26 season.
