48 teachers from across country to be honoured on September 5

On September 5, President Droupadi Murmu will present the National Teachers’ Awards to 48 exceptional school teachers across the country, marking Teachers' Day. The Ministry of Education announced this on Friday, explaining that the awardees were chosen through a rigorous three-stage selection process at district, state, and national levels by the Department of School Education & Literacy. This process aimed to identify educators who have made outstanding contributions to school education and student development.

The 48 awardees hail from 27 states, seven Union Territories, and six organizations under the Central government. Among them, 26 are men, and 22 are women. To celebrate their achievements, short documentaries detailing each awardee's exemplary work and impact will be presented during the award ceremony. The Department of School Education & Literacy organizes this annual national-level Teachers' Day event on September 5 to honor the finest teachers in India.

The Ministry of Education emphasized that the purpose of the award is to celebrate the unique contributions of these remarkable educators and to recognize their dedication to enriching the lives of their students through their commitment and hard work.
