48 teachers from across country to be honoured on September 5

On September 5, President Droupadi Murmu will honor 48 school teachers across India in recognition of their exceptional contributions to education and student development, according to the Ministry of Education. The awardees were chosen through a rigorous three-stage selection process conducted at the district, state, and national levels by the Department of School Education & Literacy.

The 48 awardees come from 27 states, seven Union Territories, and six organizations under the Central government. Half of the awardees are men, and the other half are women. To celebrate the achievements of these outstanding educators, short documentaries showcasing their exemplary work will be screened during the award ceremony.

The Department of School Education & Literacy organizes an annual national-level Teachers' Day event on September 5 to acknowledge the outstanding contributions of school teachers from across the country. The Ministry of Education aims to celebrate the unique contributions of these exceptional teachers and honor those who have enriched the lives of their students through their dedication and commitment.
