Vote for Courier & Press high school boys soccer preseason Player of the Year

The Courier & Press has launched its search for the 2026 high school boys soccer preseason Player of the Year. Voting for this honor remains open until Wednesday, August 26, at 12 p.m. CDT. This poll has no impact on the Metro Player of the Year selection that will be determined after the season concludes. All votes are for bragging rights alone.

Irrespective of the final tally, 64 boys soccer players have been identified as notable talents to watch in Southwestern Indiana's high school ranks this season. Ethan Ashby from North Posey made an impact as a midfielder, tallying 11 goals and four assists. Kole Cunningham from Evansville Christian led the pack with 15 goals and five assists in a striking role. Ben Eaton of Memorial contributed four goals and three assists as a forward.

Anderson Elshoff from Southridge showcased his midfield prowess with eight goals and seven assists. Marvin Figueroa from Jasper made his mark as a midfielder with three goals and five assists. Fabian Garcia from Heritage Hills proved a constant threat with 20 goals and eight assists. Price Hurst, a forward from North, added 13 goals and four assists to his tally. Lucas Jurado from Castle contributed 11 goals and nine assists in midfield.

Levi Loudermilk from South Knox shone as a forward with 14 goals and nine assists. Preston Price, a senior forward from Reitz, led the pack with 24 goals and 10 assists. Lucas Ravellette from Princeton had an impressive season with eight goals and six assists. Jeter Simmons from Gibson Southern finished as a senior forward with eight goals and eight assists.

Gera Silva from Vincennes Lincoln had 14 goals and three assists in a striking role. Zaiden Tribbie from Tell City led the Marksmen with 16 goals and seven assists. Dean Underwood from Harrison contributed five goals and three assists as a midfielder. Gavin Vignolo from North made an impression as a midfielder with seven goals and eight assists.

Ian Wenderoth from Central wrapped the list as a senior forward with 11 goals and six assists. Elliott Woodland, the goalkeeper from Castle, demonstrated remarkable skills with just 0.74 goals per match, 64 saves, and nine shutouts.
