Taylor Swift's ex-beau Conor Kennedy on Russia's wanted list — Know charges against US Health Secretary RFK Jr's son

Conor Kennedy, the 32-year-old son of former U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., has been placed on Russia's international wanted list. Under Russian law, he is accused of acting as a mercenary while fighting alongside Ukrainian forces in the ongoing conflict. If detained, he could face between 7 to 10 years in prison. On 12 August, Moscow's Basmanny District Court ruled that Conor's arrest in absentia was justified by an investigative body's petition.

Although his American legal team appealed the decision, the appeals court upheld the district court's ruling. Conor Kennedy, who inspired Taylor Swift's 2012 song "Starlight," served on the Kharkiv front from October 2022 to early 2023. He joined the Ukrainian forces after being deeply moved by the situation in Ukraine and discovered the country's International Legion while on a break from law school at Georgetown University.

Despite keeping his involvement a secret from his family, Conor later shared his experience on social media, revealing that he was willing to die for his cause. He describes his time in Ukraine as challenging but rewarding, though he keeps it personal, stating, "My time in Ukraine wasn't long but I saw a lot and I felt a lot."
