Sennheiser Unveils Momentum True Wireless 5; Features Replaceable Batteries

Sennheiser has unveiled its latest wireless earbuds, the Momentum True Wireless 5, which continue the company's tradition of incremental upgrades. These new buds boast replaceable batteries for both the earbuds and the charging case, a feature that was uncommon just a decade ago. According to What Hi-Fi?, the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 5 is equipped with 7mm TrueResponse dynamic drivers that deliver remarkable detail, full-bodied bass, and exceptional precision.

These earbuds connect via Bluetooth 6.0 with aptX Adaptive codec, supporting 24-bit / 96 kHz audio transmission. They feature a revised hybrid noise-cancelling system, a four-microphone array for noise cancellation, and redesigned ear tips. Voice capture relies on six microphones and two bone-conduction accelerometers, along with an AI speech-extraction algorithm to pick up the user's voice in noisy settings.

The earbuds offer 12 hours of playback without active noise cancellation (ANC), and up to 40 hours with the charging case. However, with ANC on, these numbers decrease to six hours and up to 25 hours, respectively. The unique selling point of the Momentum True Wireless 5 is the ability to replace the batteries inside the earbuds and the case, should they degrade over time.

The Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 5 will be available in five colors - Graphite, Cream, Copper, Denim, and Lavender - starting on 3 September, priced at US$300 (~RM1,214).

How I Model Aspects and Orbs in a Python Astrology Engine

I like working on aspect calculations because the astrology terminology disappears pretty quickly once you get into the code.

  • Calculate angular distance between planets' longitudes
  • Define target angles for major aspects with orbs
  • Separate aspect calculation from interpretation

The Hard Part of Birth Chart Calculations Isn't the Zodiac. It's Time.

The most annoying bugs I’ve dealt with while building a birth-chart engine were not about zodiac signs. They were about time.

  • Calculating birth charts faces time complexity beyond zodiac signs
  • Daylight-saving transitions create ambiguity in local datetime input
  • Unknown birth times require representing incomplete data with null values
