Petrol and diesel prices today: How costly is fuel in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru as crude oil declines after 5-day rally?

Petrol and diesel prices remained unchanged across major Indian cities on Friday, as global oil prices saw a slight decline following a five-day rally. Indian consumers are insulated from fluctuations in global oil prices due to the determination of fuel prices by state-run Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs).

The global benchmark Brent crude oil price dropped 0.7% to trade around $93.10 a barrel, with analysts predicting it would end the week more than 5% higher. West Texas Intermediate for October also dipped to $86 a barrel, following a five-day streak of gains. This break in the rally was triggered by US President Donald Trump's threat of economic sanctions against Iran, warning of "economic warfare" and isolation on an unprecedented scale.

Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi criticized the US sanctions, calling them "economic terrorism" and crimes against humanity. He emphasized that the threats aim to divert attention from domestic financial problems. US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin reiterated Trump's statement, warning of the "greatest coordinated economic isolation in the history of the world" if nations engage in business with Iran.
