GTCO secures NGX extension for H1 2026 results

Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc has obtained an extension from the Nigerian Exchange Limited to postpone the release of its half-year audited financial statements for the period ending June 30, 2026. Although the financial figures were approved by the company's Board of Directors on July 28, 2026, the primary regulator must grant clearance before the figures can be publicly disclosed.

To comply with exchange rules while awaiting the necessary approval, GTCO requested additional time, leading the NGX to grant a new publication deadline of September 30, 2026.

Group General Counsel and Company Secretary Erhi Obebeduo reassured investors, stating that if the approval is received earlier than expected, the company's interim audited financial statements would be released to the market sooner than the NGX-approved period. Under Central Bank of Nigeria regulations, major commercial banks and financial holding companies in Nigeria are required to submit interim and full-year financial accounts for thorough supervisory reviews prior to public dissemination. While the NGX adheres to standardized timelines to ensure market transparency, temporary filing extensions are a common practice for dual-listed financial institutions like GTCO to accommodate regulatory review cycles without breaching listing compliance rules.
