People of Balochistan will have first right to province’s wealth: PM Shehbaz

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif declared on Friday that the people of Balochistan would have the initial claim to the province's wealth. He stated that investment and resources would be essential to extract metals and minerals from the region. During the Balochistan National Workshop's closing ceremony in Quetta, the premier addressed senior government officials, local notables, and religious leaders.

Shehbaz emphasized that Balochistan was Pakistan's richest province, but its valuable metals and minerals lay buried in the mountains. He assured that this wealth belonged to the people of Balochistan, regardless of their region. Acknowledging the potential challenges in extracting these resources, Shehbaz stressed the need for investment and expertise.

He further discussed the province's challenges, including education, hospitals, and roads. The premier asserted that resolving these issues required mutual consensus and fair distribution of resources to benefit all provinces. However, he warned against using violence to solve problems and highlighted the sacrifices made by security forces in combating terrorism.
