The African Democratic Congress gubernatorial candidate in Oyo, Adegboyega Adegoke, met with a chieftain of the Allied People’s Movement, Abdul-Rasheed Olopoeyan, in a closed-door session. The meeting was held at Olopoeyan's residence on Thursday. Adegoke was accompanied by Kafilat Olayiwola, the ADC Deputy National Women Leader for the Southwest region.
Both Adegoke and Olayiwola were previously associated with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) before joining their respective political parties. While they did not disclose the exact reason for their meeting, it is believed that the discussion may have been connected to their potential alliance for the gubernatorial election in Oyo.
Sources claim that the two political figures deliberated on issues surrounding a possible alliance and have agreed to collaborate during the 2027 election campaign.
