Osun: APC candidate Oyebamiji meets Tinubu for first time after election loss

In the aftermath of the recent Osun State governorship election, Bola Oyebamiji, the candidate from the All Progressives Congress (APC), convened a meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. The encounter occurred just 24 hours following incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party's victory and presentation of his Certificate of Return to the President.

Following the meeting, Oyebamiji addressed the media, urging political actors in Osun State to maintain peace. He further elaborated that his party is presently reviewing the election outcome and plans to communicate its position to the public at a later time. President Tinubu reportedly advised Oyebamiji to approach the situation with a peaceful mindset, emphasizing that governance is primarily for the people and that peace should be the paramount concern.

Oyebamiji conveyed his appeal to Osun's populace, requesting their steadfast commitment to peaceful coexistence. He also exhorted Governor Adeleke to address his supporters and dissuade any potential acts of violence.
