Mini Mathur on interfaith marriage with Kabir Khan: ‘Our kids have no religion’

Mini Mathur, a well-known personality who rose to fame after winning the Prime Video reality show Alliance, recently opened up about her interfaith marriage with director Kabir Khan. In a recent interview, Mini revealed that their wedding did not face any opposition from either of their families, despite her father's conservative nature.

Mini explained that she never declared any religion for her children on official documents, stating that she never wanted her husband's name on their passports. She also noted that she hadn't faced any issues with local authorities in Mumbai when registering her children's names or passport. Mini shared that she decided not to change her name and not include her husband's name on official documents, as she did not want her children to have their parents' names either.

Despite not being a religious person herself, Mini still practices cultural traditions like Karva Chauth and 'havan' to maintain a connection with her parents. She explained that she does Karva Chauth and 'havan' for her mother, dressing in traditional red and green sarees during the rituals. Mini also discussed her family's acceptance of Kabir Khan, noting that her conservative father never objected to her having male friends and welcomed them all into their home.

When Kabir Khan first entered their lives, Mini was careful not to upset her father's expectations, but her father eventually warmed up to him, impressed by Kabir's cultured persona and impressive background. The couple has been married for over two decades and has two children - a daughter named Sairah and a son named Vivaan.
