Michigan State basketball misses out on official visit from elite wing

The Michigan State basketball team has been actively pursuing top prospects for the 2027 recruiting class, setting up official visits for several promising players. However, one highly regarded prospect, Asa Montgomery, a 6-foot-7 small forward and a top-30 talent, has not arranged a visit with the Spartans. Fans of the Michigan State Spartans had their hopes up for the team to secure a visit from Montgomery, but he did not make the cut.

Eight teams received confirmation that they would receive official visits, but Michigan State was not among them. Given the position of need at the wing position, and with the Spartans yet to host a wing prospect for an official visit, it is expected that head coach Tom Izzo will continue to push for these visits. If not, the Spartans will turn their attention to the next prospect on the big board.

The list of top-30 prospect Asa Montgomery's official visits this fall includes LSU on August 28th, Florida on September 4th, UConn on September 11th, Providence on September 18th, North Carolina on September 25th, Duke on October 2nd, Arizona on October 16th, and Louisville on an unspecified date.
