Man Utd's Devaney in talks with Hibs over loan move

Manchester United's young talent Jacob Devaney is reportedly in talks with Hibernian regarding a loan move back to Scotland's top flight. The 19-year-old was in charge of Manchester United's Premier League 2 team during the first half of the previous season before transferring to St Mirren for a more extended senior football experience.

Throughout his time at St Mirren, Devaney showcased his skills, featuring in 18 matches, including 16 starts. After returning to Manchester United for pre-season, he played in the opening two games against Wrexham and Rosenborg, scoring in the latter despite playing in central defense instead of his preferred midfield position.

As the Republic of Ireland Under-21 international prepares for the upcoming season, Devaney expressed his primary goal to secure first-team football at Manchester United. However, he acknowledged that loan spells might be necessary to gain additional experience. It is believed that there has been considerable interest in the talented player, and discussions with Hibernian have reached a significant stage, although the final deal has yet to be finalized.

Hibernian recently drew 0-0 with Belgian side Gent in the away leg of their Conference League play-off match. The Edinburgh club is aiming to progress to the league phase of a European competition for the first time.
