Liveblog: Neeraj Chopra in action soon at Lausanne Diamond League

Neeraj Chopra and Rumesh Pathirage are set to face off again at the Lausanne Diamond League, following their gold and silver finish at the recent Glasgow Commonwealth Games. The Sri Lankan javelin thrower claimed gold while the Indian took silver in their last encounter. The pair are among nine athletes competing in a field that lacks several top stars such as Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem and Germany's Julian Weber.

Neeraj, who is still recovering from a long injury, has yet to reach his peak form this season. The two-time Olympic and two-time World Championships medallist has a season best throw of 85.83 meters. Pathirage, on the other hand, is favored with a season best of 92.62 meters. The 28-year-old Indian javelin thrower admitted during the Glasgow Commonwealth Games that his fitness is not quite at its peak, but he is getting there slowly.
