Landers invite ex-All-Star slugger Romak for pregame ceremony

The SSG Landers, a South Korean baseball team, have invited their former All-Star player, Jamie Romak, for a pregame ceremony next week. Incheon-based club, the Landers announced the news on Friday. Romak, the longest-serving foreign hitter in franchise history, will be making his first trip to the team's home city of Incheon since retirement in 2021. The Landers have invited Romak's family to join him for the occasion.

Romak will participate in various activities during his visit. He will be signing autographs for fans at Incheon SSG Landers Field. Additionally, Romak and his family will throw out the ceremonial first pitch in an upcoming game. The Canadian slugger played for the Incheon-based club from 2017 to 2021, initially with the SK Wyverns, a team owned by different parties during his initial four campaigns.

Romak's impact on the team is significant. During his tenure, he launched a total of 155 home runs, which stands as the highest number of home runs hit by a foreign player in the team's history. Moreover, Romak's contribution to the team's success is noteworthy. He helped the team win the 2018 Korean Series title, finishing second in the regular season with 43 home runs. He then added four more long balls in the subsequent postseason games. Romak's No. 27 jersey has been worshipped by the fans.
