Karol Bagh heist: 2 men smash SUV window, flee with Rs 2 crore jewellery

A high-value jewellery heist occurred in Delhi's Karol Bagh area on August 19. Thieves broke the rear window of a car belonging to Kanhaiya Lal, a jewellery businessman, and stole over Rs 2 crore worth of gold and diamond ornaments. Lal, his son Dhruv Soni, and a staff member had arrived in Delhi on August 18 for business marketing work.

According to the complaint, the thieves entered the vehicle and took three backpacks and a suitcase containing the stolen items, including gold and diamond jewellery, a laptop, and Aadhaar cards. The bags and suitcase were left inside the car when the victims went to a Bikanervala restaurant for dinner. Upon returning at around 7:15 pm, they discovered the rear window smashed and the bags gone.

Police are investigating the incident, reviewing CCTV footage and analyzing the movements of Lal and his companions before and after parking the vehicle to determine if they were followed. They aim to identify and apprehend the suspects and recover the stolen jewellery.
