Karol Bagh heist: 2 men smash SUV window, flee with Rs 2 crore jewellery

Two men smashed the rear window of a jeweller’s SUV in Delhi’s Karol Bagh, fleeing with jewellery worth over Rs 2 crore, according to police. The theft occurred on Wednesday when the suspects, who had been following the vehicle, approached the parked SUV after the owner, Kanhaiya Lal, left the bags inside while dining at a nearby Bikanervala restaurant.

A PCR call was received at Karol Bagh police station following which an investigation was launched. Two suspects wearing helmets and on a motorcycle were identified and the motorcycle was traced to its registered owner, who has been detained along with his two brothers for questioning. The jeweller, who had come to Delhi with his son and a staff member on business, had left the bags and a suitcase containing gold and diamond jewellery, a laptop, and clothes inside the SUV.
